Car 2 Can

As the “official beer of NASCAR”, Busch wanted decided to release a limited edition beer can made from the body panels of Kevin Harvick’s #4 race car. During the biggest race of the season - the Daytona 500 - fans could tweet answers to trivia questions for a chance to win one of the cans.

The design process began with material research and experimentation. The assumption that race car body panels would lend themselves to being pressed into tin cans proved false when half of them turned out to be made of carbon fiber.

The final design was a split can; the lower section cast from reconstituted chopped carbon fiber, and the upper half made by deep draw forming the steel panels of the car. By choosing not to remove the vinyl wrap from the steel, each can contains a section of the graphic wrap, making each unique but recognizable. Integral to the design process was identifying manufacturing partners who could bring the can to life. We sourced and worked closesly with partners across three states.

This project was done at Factioned Studio.

Theater Seat Divider

A design exploration for a collapsible and rapidly deployable seat divider for use by a family of theaters who wanted to give theatergoers peace of mind when returning to Broadway after the Covid 19 Pandemic.

The design proposed using a thin band of spring steel which would mount to an empty seat between groups of poeople. The curvature of spring steel would form an armature for a slip cover. This lightweight and collapsible divider could be quickly dispersed before shows based on ticket group sales, and would hang vertically taking up minimal closet space when not in use.

Ultimately, investments in air circulation and filtration proved more worthwhile.

Hiro Ramen @ The Venetian

A mural for the Venetian hotel and casino in Macau. Working with artist Andrew Archer, we broke up a sprawling illustration into separate elements which could be mounted at varying depths to acheive a paralax effect when walking through the space.

Illustrations of japanese lightbox signs were turned into actual backlit light panels

The mural takes up 60 feet of wall space and comprises more than 300 pieces.

This project was done at Factioned Studio.

Hilton Atlanta - Feature Wall

A faceted feature wall engineered and built for a Hilton hotel in Atlanta, GA.

Using a render designed by interior designers Sawyer & co, we engineered a structure made from powder coated aluminum square tube, wood panels, and custom brackets stitching it all together.

Information Kiosk

An information kiosk designed for a sprawling mix-use development containing offices, retail, food and drink. The kiosks feature a digital display interface and vitrine intended to display art and products created by tenants.
